In last week’s post, I admitted to assigning some homework to myself that entailed sitting by the lake, reflecting on the goals I’ve reached to date, and then setting new goals for the next half of the year.
Well, I did it!
Here’s the goals I created and attempted to reach the first half of the year, and then the new ones I’m now working towards.
Goals: January – July

- Expand my social media presence by joining Twitter, Pinterest and/or Instagram
- Reach 800 Likes on Facebook page Vikki Christina Maria Photography by the end of December
- Create, capture, and share happiness with others
As John Dewey said, “arriving at one goal is the starting point to another.” When I read this, I was struck by a simple realization. Life is too short, so always keep moving forward. Don’t hold yourself back. Don’t wait until the time feels right. Don’t mourn for too long. Don’t daydream for too long. Act on your goals. Set them, work towards them, achieve them, and then set new goals. Before you know it — speaking from personal experience as I started my own company and now find myself somewhere I never imagined possible — you’ll be on your own path toward greatness.
